George and his team are experienced builders, replaced my front door with a custom frame/sidelights and raising the floor level in the hallway quite quickly - in fact, they were the only who came next day, gave a quote straightaway and were ready to start in just couple of days. When embarking on a large project (in this case a substantial house extension) you want to be reassured that as well as good communication throughout the job, the quality of work will be of the highest and that best efforts are made to bring the job in on time and as near as possible on budget. My wife and I were very impressed on all these fronts and would heartily recommend the AJR team. They turned up everyday for the 3 months the job took, were polite and resolved unforeseen problems creatively.
Poor work. Chemfix wasn't mixed properly for gallows brackets and didn't set for over a week. The joiner didn't even know which joists required additional strength and I had to tell him what to do. Would not recommend.

I have worked in both the construction industry and in the private sector for over 20 years having developed a wide range of skills and expertise. I particularly specialise in the causes of damp, damp- proofing solutions, plaster boarding/plastering. Bricklaying (internal and external), blockwork and stud walling. I have also successfully undertaken work in many areas of home and garden improvement/repair/maintenance, a selection including - the installation of skirting boards, internal door adjustments and re-hanging doors, laying laminate and engineered wood flooring and the assembly of flat-pack furniture. Removal and replacement of guttering, drainpipes, fascia and soffits. Decking, garden walling, handrails, patios and steps to accommodate sloping gardens. We asked Valon to lay porcelain slabs along the border of our garden. He responded to our request quickly and popped around beforehand to view the garden. His quote was less than anyone else’s and despite allowing one day to complete the work, it took 1.5 days and he didn’t charge us any more. His workmanship was of a high quality and we would highly recommend him. He also undertakes building work as well as gardens so he will definitely be out go to person in future

The work itself was very good, and while on the job, they were quick, consistent and polite. Problems occurred with finishing off and a number of issues are still outstanding. There were mitigating circumstances - serious illness in the company - but communications with us have been erratic and we are left with a few outstanding issues that we have to deal with ourselves.

BE WARNED! OK plasterer, APPALLING BUILDER. Put rubber roof on when wet, so now roof is blistering/bubbling. Tried to use piece of aluminum and wood to hold up roof--told by builder inspector he needed lintel. Lied to us, ignored inspector & tried to carry on using aluminum. Tired to get us to pay for insulation included in the quote. Got angry when we asked him not to smoke in our house. Three weeks after said work would be done (and with no changes to original job), walked off job without work completed.
